James Olszewski started his music career in Georgetown, Texas. James’ musical style is orchestral, with significant new age influences. At times powerful, at times tender and relaxing, James’ music is similar to Classical composers Moussorgsky and Tchaikovsky, and New Age artists Yanni and Ray Lynch. James composes and produces virtually all of his music electronically, but imbues his songs with an organic and natural feel.
James began writing music in his childhood, becoming interested in and learning the piano by watching his sister’s piano lessons. He would often copy her lessons by ear after she left the piano. James’ first studio consisted of a Casio keyboard connected to a cassette tape recorder. Using this setup, James wrote his first “album” at 14 years of age, a collection of short instrumental songs representing each of his friends.
James accomplished a major milestone in March 2008 by releasing his debut album, Speaking in Whispers, including full orchestra and smaller ensemble pieces. James is planning his second album, Shelter, a collection of orchestral arrangements of hymns. This will be a very personal work, each song uniquely interpreted based on his own experience with the hymns throughout his life in church. James also intends to place his music in TV and film.
